In my 3 decades as working on the front line with people who need support to live their daily lives, I have always been shocked at the lack of sharing that happens between organizations and people. When I started working in group homes and institutional settings I had many questions and no one to answer them.
Over the years I have learned that I am not alone in this search for openness and sharing. THe people I support benefit when I am more informed. The people who need support can benefit greatly from the lessons learned by other support workers.
I have been writing about this for years. I have met others who are writing about this. So why not create a simple hub where people can come together and share their pieces. A place that is for the front line worker to share their questions and solutions.
That is what this is. I will host it, help with editing, but not be the judge of the work. If you have a piece you wish to share email it to me and I will post it on this blog.
